Inappropriate Staffing: Part II

In my July 5 post, I stated that one of the largest areas of overbilling I run into is “inappropriate staffing.”  In my July 5 post, I discussed the issue of paralegals inappropriately billing for tasks that could have been done by non-billing clerical staff.  I recommended that instead of developing long lists of tasks that are permissible (or impermissible) for paralegals to bill for to apply what I call the “Perry Mason test.”

In this post, I will discuss the issue of inappropriate staffing as it relates to tasks performed by attorneys.   Continue reading
